TBI scientist shares hot and cold viruses with kids

Brian Bothner, MSU Biochemist and TBI faculty member, spent Tuesday, February 14th with 7th grade students at the Belgrade Middle School.  Bothner taught the students about viruses, examining both the common cold virus and the unique viruses that inhabit Yellowstone hot springs.  Emphasizing the concept of scale, Bothner and middle school teacher Kim Popham built color paper models of the common cold virus, and helped the kids visualize a virus structure.  The kids learned that viruses can be fun!
