Gifted and Talented program visited MSU this spring.

Sixty students from Helena’s Gifted and Talented program visited MSU this spring.  The students learned about Yellowstone’s unique geology and chemistry that creates the extreme environments found in the world’s first National Park.  Students created a necklace from their very own DNA and visited two high powered electron microscope labs.  These special microscopes magnify samples 30,000 to 1,000,000 times and allow scientists to visualize form and structure of microbial communities and as well as individual microbes and viruses.
